Season’s Greetings and best wishes for a prosperous 2014 to all our authors, referees and readers
As Light: Science & Applications (LSA)approaches its second anniversary, this new journal, co-published by Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP) and Nature Publishing Group (NPG), celebrates another milestone. Light: Science & Applications was accepted by Thomson Reuters for Science Citation Index (SCI) in October 2013. This breakthrough is attributed to the outstanding work done by all the authors, readers, editors, reviewers, and staff from CIOMP and NPG, and this further increase the standing of Light: Science & Applications in the research community of optics. On behalf of the editorial board of Light: Science & Applications, we would like to deliver our deep gratitude to all of you who have faithfully accompanied Light: Science & Applications towards this success. We sincerely appreciate your continuous efforts and strong support! Since the launch of this journal, the aim has been to publish high-quality papers in optics and to establish an international platform for academic exchange, collaboration, and innovation. During the past one and a half years, we are proudly see that many of our published papers have made a significant impact in the optics field. Several international conferences have also been organised, with leading experts invited as keynote speakers and scientists from all over the world have gathered to disseminate and exchange their research in optics. One example of this success was the paper on the world’s first warm-white LED published in LSA which was followed by a report from National Science Foundation in USA. In the Vol. 499: Issue 7459 of Nature 2013, an article published in LSA was highlighted along with articles published in Science and Cell.
