Special Issue of the International Journal of Material Science (IJMSCI)
Topic: Functional Materials
Functional materials play an increasingly important role in the development of the field of materials science and engineering. Functional materials are designed to make use of their natural or engineered functionalities to respond to changes in electrical and magnetic fields, physical and chemical environment, etc. . These design considerations are fundamentally different to those relevant for structural materials and are the focus of this special issue.
You are encouraged to contribute to the special issue by submitting your latest research and review papers in the field of functional materials. The topics of this special issue include (but are not limited to)
- Fundamental physics of functional materials
- Hard and soft magnetic materials
- Materials for spintronics and photonics
- Electrooptic and magnetooptic materials
- Multiferroics and magnetoelectric materials
- Magnetoelastic and adaptive materials
- Microwave and THz materials, metamaterials
- Luminescent and radiation sensing materials
- Nanotechnologies for functional materials
- Materials for medical applications, biosensors
- “Green” materials and technologies for sustainable development
- New techniques and equipment for materials research
Papers must be original contributions, not previously published or submitted to other journals. Papers published or submitted for publication in conference proceedings may be considered provided that they are extended and improved.
Perspective authors can submit their manuscripts online by click here.
