Abstract
Room temperature ferromagnetic and paramagnetic Zn0.98Mn0.02O samples have been synthesized by the solid state reaction method and by selecting the final annealing temperature. Employing positron annihilation techniques, defects for both samples have been characterized. The results indicate that the presence of cation vacancy type defects is relatively less in the ferromagnetic Zn0.98Mn0.02O sample than in the paramagnetic Zn0.98Mn0.02O sample.
